This on-line course is being developed to complete the requirement of 15 PDPs in the area of English Language Learners

Participants will discuss the history of English language learners (ELs) in Massachusetts, as well as current EL demographics and legislation.

Participants will review and understand the theories of language acquisition

Participants will understand and explore the use of content and language objectives as well as their impact on SIOP lesson planning

Participants will understand how to interpret WIDA results and use their "Can do" descriptors to access and educate EL students.

Participants will explore various classroom strategies for the SEI classroom
